Need To Know Info
There’s many facets behind the decision to fill in the registration form for a conference, tick the T & C’s and block off 2 days of your work diary.
This page is all about the additional info, the info that means when you hit that “register” button you can do so and feel assured that you’ve made the right decision. It’s split into 5 different sections:
• Complete results from the Attendee Surveys from our 15 events
• Description of our “Interactive Format”
• Find out who attended our previous events
• Photos from our past events to give you a pictorial feel for what we do and how we do it
• A tiny selection of testimonials that we’ve collected from your peers
16 CONFERENCES; 16 ATTENDEE SURVEYS; HERE’S WHAT YOUR PEERS THINK
Since June 2009 we have organised 16 events in Johannesburg, London, Cape Town, Berlin, Nairobi and Lagos. At each one we’ve asked the attendees to tell us what they thought. Here’s what they said:
OUR INTERACTIVE FORMAT
We’ve all been there – it’s after lunch, you’re 10 minutes into a 30 or 40 minute presentation and the speaker isn’t exactly setting the world alight, the eyelids feel heavy…
We don’t want that to happen to you, so these are the precautions we take to avoid it:
1) Short, sharp presentations – all of our presentations (apart from the Thought Leader session) are a maximum of 20 minutes. We tell our speakers not to give us the fluff, cut the intro, get down to what everyone wants to hear.
2) Mix up the formats – presentations, panel discussions, debates, audience interaction. Keeping people on their toes, keeps them alert.
3) No theatre style seating – you’re not at the cinema or university, yes we’re all there to learn and yes we’re all students at the University of Life, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got to sit there, only making eye-contact with the people either side of you.
4) Add fuel to discussions and interaction – Following the informative and thought-provoking presentations, you’ll be requested to interact directly with your peers to discuss the proceedings and form discussions points.
The result is this:
We use this format at all of our events and the response has been phenomenal – attendees love it. It offers you the chance to develop your personal network and not feel awkward doing it. You’re actively encouraged to meet people.
This format will multiply the quality of your event experience – simply put it will deliver better value for you.
Surely a good time for a celebratory drink?
WHO ARE YOU GOING TO MEET?
Knowing who you’re going to be mixing with at a conference is really important. We want to supply you with that information.
If you want to get a full overview of who attends these events then please fill in your details here and we’ll send the list across to you:
We know that not everyone likes reading or statistics or pie charts, so feel free to have a look through this carousel of photos. We believe that each one is a good illustration of what your “on- the-day” experience will be like:

We said that there were only 5 sections, but as you made it this far down we’ll throw a video into the mix as well. It’s taken from one of our events in Kenya a couple of years back and we think it’s a nice illustration of what our events are about and how we do things:
